Problems that worsen over several hours and/or are accompanied by pain, weakness, difficulty breathing, bleeding, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, lethargy, and fever, need the immediate attention of a veterinarian.

During our normal business hours, Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital is well prepared for life and death situations. Our veterinarians and healthcare team are happy to accommodate urgent and emergent care cases. Our modern facility has state-of-the-art equipment such as oxygen therapy, digital radiographs, blood gas evaluation equipment, devices for measuring clotting times, computerized electrocardiography, intravenous infusion pumps, and more.
We maintain a special partnership with the Anne Arundel Veterinary Emergency Clinic (AAVEC) (410-224-0331). Patients needing 24-hour intensive care can be stabilized at Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital and then and transferred to Anne Arundel Veterinary Emergency Clinic or other referral facility as needed.
